Our 100th day celebration!!

Well, we had our 100th day of school celebration today and boy, am I exhausted!!

It was so much fun. It was jam packed with activities that kept the kids counting all day long. And quite honestly, I'm pretty tired of counting to 100 myself.

Naturally some activities took a little bit longer than I accounted for originally. But we kept on trucking through and we made it through most of the activities I had planned. A few extra activities we didn't get to I will work on tomorrow during class time.

And I'm proud to say that I'm pretty sure the kids honestly loved every activity we did. They got to eat their heart out with all the different foods, they got to play in paint, and they got to move all day long!

Take a look at some of the pictures I snapped throughout the day:
We started off with a Hershey Kiss seek-and-find!
They brought me the kisses and the number stickers on the bottom.  They then filled in a hundreds chart with the stickers!
We then counted the chart to make sure the numbers were in the right spots!

We made 100 dots!
They made hand prints and then counted and numbered all of the fingers!
We made 100 gumballs in the gumball machine!
We wrote out our numbers!
We counted toes!
We put foods on sorting trays and the kids counted out 10 sets of 10!
They wrote about what they would eat 100 of!
(Sugar cookies!)
(Boxes of macaroni and cheese)
(Strawberries)

The kids did exercises!!
Everyone got a certificate to remember the day!
 They loved their stickers!
Our hallway display to show everyone how smart the kids are after 100 days!

WHEW!!!
It was such a fun and exciting day!
I'm sure the kids will be talking about it for weeks to come!!

  6. We did the chocolate kiss activity and had the neatest thing happen... we were learning about place value and using the base ten blocks. the kids reached into a bag that I had placed the numbered kisses into and pulled out a number/kiss. If they could build it with base tens, they could eat it! So much fun!
