American Soil Never Tasted So Sweet!

Hi blogging friends!
I know it's been a while since I've written but my life has completely changed him within the past few days.

I usually don't talk about my personal life too much but this is one experience I have to share with you.  And fair warning--this has NOTHING to do with school!

If you've been keeping up with my blog over the past months you know that my husband is Air Force and has been deployed. Well, the day finally came and he arrived back home to American soil! Yes my hubby came home… Finally! Our family was just not the same without him. It's so nice to have him home now. Needless to say, we've had tons of family time over the past few days, hence, my blogging absence!

I had a very elaborate plan for when he arrived. Everything from me meeting him at the airport, to him surprising our son at his daycare, to him surprising my daughter after school. It all went off without a hitch--- it all worked out so perfectly.

The surprises that he gave to my son and daughter were absolutely priceless! Yes, if you're wondering it did look EXACTLY like all the YouTube videos you see of the soldiers homecomings.  Just watching the videos, and even thinking about them, brings tears to my eyes. Our son was so shocked that he stood completely still for a few seconds trying to figure out if it was really his dad that he was seeing.  My daughter is a kindergartner at my school. I worked out an elaborate plan with many of my colleagues that I work with, to surprise her right after school got out for the day.  All of my colleagues were watching as my daughter came down one hallway, and my husband entered from the other end. Once she realized it really was her daddy she was seeing, she just ran to him with open arms as fast as her legs would move her. She plowed into him as she finally reached him and she began sobbing with tears and held onto him for dear life!  She was so shocked and surprised that she was actually speechless.

Here are a few pictures that were snapped from our wonderful day:
Me finally getting to hold him once again!
Us, together again!!
My son happy to see daddy again!
Our complete family!
Daddy and his babies!!

I would like to take a minute to thank all military members and their families! Too often we forget about those who are still supporting our country and their families who are supporting them! Whether you are in the military or you are keeping the lights burning at home for your spouse who is away, please know that we support everything you are doing and the sacrifices you are making!!
