My December 'currently'...

Hi y'all! I hope this Sunday finds you rested, in the holiday spirit and ready for the upcoming school week!! And if you're anything like me, you've got a calendar countdown going already for how many days until Christmas break!! (Shhhh, don't tell the boss!)

I'm linking up with Farley at Oh' Boy 4th Grade to bring you December's 'currently'.

Listening to my son squeal- yep! Have you ever met a 18 month old who has just found their voice? Boy oh boy, he's a non-stop babbler and screamer...and not a bad kind of scream, just a scream followed the biggest smile!  And who can resist that cute smile with eyes that will melt your heart?  Not this mama!!

I do love Christmas time! It's filled with lights on everyone's houses, blow-up creations in people's yards and lots of happiness to go around! LOVE IT!!!

I'm thinking---more like dreading---my husband leaving in less than 30 days.  It makes me sick to just think about it.  I'm going to miss him so much and more than anything, I'm worried about how the kids are going to handle this deployment.  Last time he deployed my 5 year old had a real hard time handling it and I can only imagine how our little 18 month is going to act too!  Not to mention, my selfish side is wondering 'what about me'.... with no family around, it just plain sucks!!! Bottom line!

I'm needing to knock out this Christmas shopping soon!  Pretty much our whole list has to be shipped back home so I guess I need to get on that!! Do I really need an excuse to shop???

Let's talk about time... does anyone else feel like time seriously speeds up on the weekend???  I usually have grand plans and come Sunday night, not much has gotten done!  Where does that time escape to???

We have vowed to do some random acts of kindness this year.  First on our list is to over-tip the next waitress/waiter we have!  Our plan is to do at least double our bill.... we are in the middle of deciding the other random acts we will partake in!

I hope you spend that extra time with your family today! Never take those moments for granted!! :)

  1. I swear the clock speeds up on Sunday too. So much to do, so little time. I love this time of year too! There's nothing better than the holiday spirit. :)

  2. Hi from Amanda - fellow linky party-goer! Sunday clocks are definitely faster than any other day. It's seems like I blink and it's 6:00 and I never know where the hours went. Too bad Mondays aren't like that. :) Christmas is my favorite time of the year too. I love shopping for my family and friends, picking out the perfect gift, and then watching their faces when they open the package. Lots of warm fuzzies!! Happy Holidays!

  3. Hi I found you through Farley's and I so agree the weekends just fly! I'm sorry your hubby has to deploy soon. Please tell him (and you) we thank him for his service, that is the greatest RAK isn't it!
    Merry Christmas!

  4. Hi. I just found your blog through the December Currently. I love Sundays too. Mine fly by. Enjoy your 18 month old. It seems like my 2 boys were that age just yesterday. They are now 12 and 14. I hope you enjoy your time with your husband before he deploys. I will be praying for you'll.
